date jar...

The hubby and I have been in a little bit of a funk lately...a dating funk.
confession: Hudson is almost two and aside from my parents watching him while they are visiting us, or we are visiting them...we have never left Hudson with anyone for any reason.
and it's not because of lack of "offers" from amazing friends.
It is a choice of ours.
It totally works for us.
We date with him.
Or we date when he goes to bed.
We do take out.
We do family days.
We do park dates.
We do fro-yo.
We do disney movies instead of "big kid shows"
And after Hudson goes to bed, we have "our time".
We have a good three hours between the time he goes to bed to the time we go to bed.
And with that three hours we have been in a "dating funk"
So we came up with something we have been needing and wanting to do for a while.
We sat down and created our dating jar...
Perfect for those "funk" nights.

OR

Go for a walk.
YouTube night.
He cooks.
She cooks.
Cookie Cook-off
Dance Party.
Plan a trip.
Fondue Night.
Take a drive.
Make our bucket list.
Camp out in the living room.
Volunteer together.

We came up with over 80 ideas that work for us, most of which do not cost a single dime!
And put them in our nothing fancy, super simple, dating jar.
So no more "funk". No more boring Saturday nights. No more excuses.
We've got ideas. We've got plans.
And a jar to show for it!

Do you have any amazing date ideas?!

  10. I love this! I bought some sticks to do this with so that I can do this for Michael and I. It's so easy forget the easy parts of our relationship. Good for you for making this. The husband is going to Vegas this weekends so I'm going to make this my goal for the weekend.
