when I got my package I couldn't wait to open it up!
And then there was this...
a picture of the state that will always have my heart....
And I was so excited to be shopping for the lovely
Melissa at Lulu and Sweet Pea!
This was an amazing chance to stalk a blog, and have a purpose in doing it! It was neat to read Melissa's blog, get to know her through her writing, and then shop for her! Her little family is adorable, her tattoos are so classy, and from what I gather - she is the most self-less and patient mother out there! Her blog is one that I hadn't ever read before this swap...and if being a secret Santa wasn't enough, then finding her blog, made this whole thing just that much more worth it!
and because I was in the christmas spirit...I thought I'd make some cookies with a christmas twist!
C a n d y c a n e C o o k i e s !
Ingredients:
1/2 butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
3 cups flour
2tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup milk
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar; add egg and milk. Add dry ingredients 1/2 cup at a time. Add vanilla. Roll on floured surface. [You may need to add more flour.] cut and cook on an ungreased cookie sheet. [I use a silapat] cook at 400 degrees for 6-8 min.
Frosting: Cream Cheese Frosting [out of the tub]
Topping: crushed candycanes
[Once decorated put them in the freezer until ready to serve.]
They are delicious.
