blind.

Hudson wasn't too sure about me when I went to get him up this morning.
You see, I'm the girl that the optometerist's hate.
I'm the girl who wears her contacts, every single second of every single day...yep- twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. I have this fear of not being able to see, and I'm terrified of the dark...so you put those two things together, and I'm a basket case without my contacts...
because I'm basically blind.
I remember squinting in class, telling my mom I could totally see everything, because what kid wants to wear glasses in the 6th grade!
When my mom finally stopped believing me, she took me to the eye doctor and was shocked to find that in fact, I really couldn't see...anything. When we got in the car to drive home, I was in awe of all of the things I'd been missing...the leaves, and colors of the houses, big billboard signs...all by lying to my parents!
With a perscription of -6.50 now, I think it's safe to say that my poor little eyes need some major correcting at all times.
With all the smoke in the Colorado air lately, my eyes have been freaking out a bit, so last night, for the first time in about a year, I switched out my contacts for my glasses...something my husband isn't even used to.
I thought I felt lazy when my make-up wasn't done, but I think I've reached a whole new level with sweats, baggy shirt, no make-up and my glasses...it's just out of the norm for me, and a little scary when I look into the mirror [trying to avoid today].
and for my husband,
and for Hudson.
But my eyes are thanking me for all of the fresh oxygen they are recieving today, so bring it on!

Please tell me that I'm not the only one that sleeps in her contacts....alot!!!
Maybe that will be my next habit to kick!?

  1. My eye doctor is begging me to get lasik because he says I am ruining my eyes. The only time I take my contacts out is when there is something in my eye. Also, our prescriptions are really close! Sigh, I hope in my next life I have perfect eyes.

  2. Your glasses really suit you!! I've worn glasses since I was around 6/7. I'm the total opposite of you, I've tried contact lenses twice and both times given up with them, i keep thinking i'll try again, but I'm not sure if I will. I don't think I look right when I am not wearing my glasses and feel kinda naked without them on.

  6. The good news is, your glasses are ADORABLE! My little sister wears her contacts ALL THE TIME. I think she looks better with glasses honestly... I've always been jealous of people with glasses, but I suppose they are a big hassle too... haha But you look gorgeous in them :)

  7. You look adorable in your glasses! I used to wear my contacts all the time, but then my eyes started getting really dry and irritated to the point that my eye lids would swell. I'm so much better about taking my contacts out when I'm hoping and letting my eyes rest.

  11. I just came across your blog and I'm happy I did!

It makes me feel so much better to know that I'm not the only one with big hair! My hair is NO WHERE near as good as yours, but I CANNOT wear it plain...EVER. It's always got to have at least a little poof.

&Your glasses are cute! You look great in them!
