feeling oh so domestic...

This weekend was quite eventful, with Kalob and his Dad in Denver at a stock show, and me, home with so many things that I wanted to get done for the baby (sorry, is this blog turning into a daily "all about baby" blog- yep, and I'm totally okay with that!) I had all day saturday to get things done...and for the first time in a long time, I was feeling OH SO DOMESTIC!

Kalob and I are very frugal people, and see NO point in spending thousands on baby items- when we are creative, handy, smart, know how to paint, drill a screw, hammer a nail, and sew! We found an amazing deal on a glider/rocker, and all it needed was some little touch ups. I wasn't close to thrilled about the cushion covers or the wood stain- so that has all changed! I re-covered the cushions with this amazing light blue and polka dot print, and painted the chair black! (of course)

Obviously- this is not the picture of our chair- but it's the same style! I'll get a picture up soon!

I then had about half the day left and decided to re-finish a bulletin board I had found! Let me just tell you- I think JoAnn's has seen plenty of me- just in one day! The baby's room is certainly coming along! I would post a picture of the actual bulletin board- but it has the baby's "name" on it- and that my friends- is purely a secret! NO apologies there!

When we moved into our condo, we didn't have a washer and dryer- and i'm not about to haul clothes and loads of laundry to a laundromat. Something also happens in a laundromat, same with a parking gargage. I just can't do it! haha. So, we were on the hunt for a washer and dryer- and we decided to splurge a little bit, okay alot and go big! And by big, I mean, RED!

I'm so lucky that I have a wonderful husband, who truly understands my obsession with the color! And let me just be the one to say, I enjoy doing laundry SO much more now...they seem to come out brighter and cleaner, and they seem to smell so much more amazing, the clothes seem warmer when they come out, and that is something that I can't get at a laundromat!

I can't tell you how long this "domestic" thing is going to stick around, but it did feel good to feel...

OH SO DOMESTIC!

  1. Hey Elise! I just linked to your blog through Tracy Schultz's. Congratulations on your pregnancy and soon-to-be baby boy! Also, I really love your washer/dryer set. Now that's a splurge I could definitely live with!
